About Robbie Halvorson..... I started dancing when I was 12 years old when my mother dragged me and my sister to a local line dance class. During that time, line dancing was "HUGE" with 50+ people attending class each week. I didn't like it at first as I had a hard time learning the steps, but there were kids my age having fun and I loved the music, so I stuck with it! In 1999 my family and I joined a local dance club called "High Steppin' Country". This club has been around since 1989 promoting country western style of dance in the Willamette Valley. High Steppin' Country dances are lots of FUN and are usually held on the third Saturday of every month. In 2002, I choreographed my very first dance "The House Is Rockin" a simple two wall dance to the song "Boogie Woogie Fiddle Country Blues" by the Charlie Daniels Band. Since then, I have choreographed 40+ dances in which they include: "A Fine Place To Start", "Suds In The Bucket", "The Windward Waltz", and "Yee Haw" just to name a few. In August 2006, my dance "A Fine Place To Start" was picked to be published in UK's Linedancer Magazine. One year later in 2003, I was encouraged by local dance instructors to teach line dance at the High Steppin' Country dances. This was a "scary" thing for me as I was shy and didn't like being in front of large crowds. Soon after, I started my own line dance class at the Corvallis Elks Lodge and at the local Senior Center. All my classes are fun, energetic and laidback! Dancing is a big part of my life and I will continue to dance for many, many years to come! Keep On Dancin'
